Fun with Friends

 Brady and Aven love markers!
Hannah had a playmate today too!

Miss Hannah is officially nine months old and had her check up last Friday. She weighs 24 lbs. 4 oz. and is 29.25 inches long, 99th and 95th percentiles. She is pulling herself up and starting to walk while holding on to things. She has two teeth on the bottom and is getting one on the top. She loves to eat, shriek, and be the center of attention. She is turning out to be a horrible sleeper, just like her brother. It is not uncommon for both Hannah and Brady to wake up twice per night. Of course, not at the same time. We switched from the bucket car seat to a "big" car seat this weekend, I could not carry her in the bucket anymore! She loves to be outside, always ready for a walk in the stroller or the back pack. She has a beautiful smile and big blue eyes, my little darling!

Bath time!

Now that Hannah can sit up on her own, I give the kids a bath together. Hannah loves it, she tries to crawl on top of Brady and she loves all the toys. She shrieks and splashes, having a great time. Brady is not as excited to share "his" bath. He tolerates her for a while, selecting center toys that she cannot touch. Tonight it was his foam letters, usually it is his paint cans as you can see in the video. If she touches either the paint can or the lid, he grabs it away from her as quickly as he can saying "no Hannah, my paint cans."
It definitely makes it a little easier for me and saves some time.

Brady and Aven, best buddies!

...phone skills...

Brady has a few toy phones, two cells phones and one "regular" phone. He goes through phases where he wants to play with them, doesn't want Hannah to have them, could care less about them, etc.

This weekend was definitely a phone weekend and boy, did he make me laugh.

Saturday morning while Hannah was napping, Brady and I were downstairs. He was playing with his trains while I did laundry and cleaned up a bit. I poke my head around the corner to check on him and say "what are you doing, Brady?" He is holding one of the cell phones in his hand, without looking up he says "texting Lou Lou."

Sunday night after bath and jammies, Brady "helped" me vacuum both his room and Hannah's. In the process of picking up his toys, he found his regular phone. It is on wheels with a string so it can be pulled around. It is definitely made for younger kids as when Brady holds it, the front wheels are off the ground. The receiver is also attached by a string. After I finish vacuuming, I see him standing in the hallway with the receiver to his ear, the rest of the phone dangling from the string, having a conversation:

"Hello, hi Judah. What you doing at Whitney's house? Oh, okay. Bye."
"Hello Daddy. What you doing at work? Okay, bye."
"Hello Hannah. What you doing? Bye."

It is amazing what he picks up on. I do not talk on the phone very much but because Ev works out of town, we talk every night. Most of the time it is after the kids are in bed but the conversation usually starts with something like "hello, how are you? how was work today?"

I love the Brady is learning to pretend and understanding concepts. He sort of understands what "yesterday" means except to him it is any day in the past. Like "Mommy, yesterday was the egg hunt." He opens my eyes to so many things that I did not notice before.

Action shots

My goal was to capture Hannah pulling herself up but she is quick and my camera is slow.
She is 8.5 months old and is changing everyday. Just this week she has learned to pull herself to her knees, and then pull her self to a stand. She is crawling like she is on a mission and has learned an ear piercing shriek.

She follows me around the house, finding me where ever I go. She is into everything which definitely drive Brady crazy. He cannot stand to see her touch his stuff.

She is absolutely the sweetest girl!
